Is this what you are really saying?

NO GODS
NO COUNTRY
NO MASTERS

The only real threat to freedom are people like you!

Good question
Governments (at least in the past 50 years) have been inciting fear to get a predictable reaction out of the public; which is the pursuit of security. This allows the government to invade a foreign country or behave in ways they would never get away with other wise, like eroding well established freedoms.
Religion is really the biggest victim of all this because ppl act in its name without the permission of the religion (God didn't come down and say hey get those terrorists).
As for Business we really should say corporate companies, because they are the dangerous ones, but only because we make them that way by investing in them and then demanding a solid return on that investment we push these companies to make profit by any means neccessary, like spying on consuners, stealing personlal information for the purposes on telemarketing and admail, and even theft and human rights abuses to there own employees.
In the end it is we the ppl that are responsible because we elect the government, and we invest in the corporation and we fail to act on the threat to our own freedoms.

It's actually a perfect storm when the three come together. The Middle East is a perfect example of religion, government and business coming together to enforce societal rules that claim a religious founding, but keep personal freedom in bondage.

In this country, we have lots of religious folks who want the US Government to institutionalize their views and enforce societal and culture norms on the all the rest of us. The US Government has resisted this historically, but the current Administration truly skirts the edges and dances a bit too much with the extreme religious right.

Business wants to restrict your freedoms as well. No Blogging, no smoking, no eating in ways that make you prone to diabetes, etc., etc. Of course, if they didn't have to pay for our health care, business would not much care, another argument for some form of universal health care in this country independent from your employer.

Freedom...we talk so much about this in America and yet we have no idea of real freedom. Jim Bridger, John Colter, Daniel Boone....these are men who had some measure of real freedom in this world. They came and went as they pleased across a landscape that was free from business, religion and government. For the briefest time in America, there was "real" freedom.

Think about this Monday morning at 6:00 AM as you prepare to head to a job that expects you at your desk on-time and for the next 12 hours.....

Freedom....I can hear Tom Berenger in Platoon leaning against the side of my cubicle muttering...."Freedom...what d'yall know about Freedom.."

Governments by far are the greatest threat to personal freedom. That is why we have the Bill of Rights; especially the first and second (freedom of speech and right to bear arms).

In the USA, here and now, as long as you have some money.

If you are a good person and don't want to break any laws anyway, none of those are any real threat to freedom anymore.

Governments spy on us, if nothing to hide, so what?

Religions will leave us alone if we leave them alone, some might even help us in times of need, thats the true test of a Religion, do they try to kill the non believers or feed them?

COmpanies and Businesses can only torment us if we agree to work for them, or by sending us adds. Junk mail can be used to heat the house if you have a fireplace.

I believe that you overlooked the greatest threat to personal freedom,,,citizen and voter apathy. Our nation's citizens are allowing our elected leaders and the wealthy elite, private and corporate, to form an alliance to govern our nation in a manner far different than our founding fathers intended. The voters need to instill a healthy fear of their voting power into our political process, the major political parties, and the politicians. Presently, they have absolutely no real fear of substantial voter backlash, and this attitude translates into a perceptable lack of respect for the American public and voters.

The answer is the only entity with the power to force behavior, Government. Despite what your left wing friends might think, the other two have no legal way to control you.

All of the above with the exception of companies and businesses. I would change that to big business.
