What are some universities in North Carolina that are near the BEACH!? My other question is if Charlotte, NC is a nice place to live in?

Well there is ECU which I believe isn't too far from the beach.
As for Charlotte, it's a pretty cool place, it's a big city surrounded by a lot of rural areas, basically once you leave the city and head towards lincoln county it's pretty rural. Also stay out of the bad parts of the city at night, but charlotte isn't as bad at crime as Durham.

Charlotte is a very nice place to live, you would be about a 6-8 hour drive away from the beach. Charlotte is also a pretty expensive place to live. Lots of things to do and lots of good restaurants.

Wilmington has universities and the beach is within the area.
Charlotte is pretty nice to live in.
You are near the mountains and the piedmont.
