About £19.20 - £19.50 for a carton of 200
When you are looking to buy, shop around as some Estanco's will just give you a few lighters whereas others may give you a bottle of spirits. Keep your receipt.

Alcohol or tobacco

If you bring in goods on which tax has been paid in an EU country, you do not have to pay any tax or duty on them in the UK. However any alcohol or tobacco you bring in must be for your own use and transported by you.

Own use’ includes goods for your own consumption and gifts. If you bring in goods for resale, or for any payment, even payment in kind, they are regarded as being for a commercial purpose.

But there are special rules for cigarettes and some tobacco products from some EU countries.

The EU Countries are: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus*, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, The Irish Republic, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, The Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain (but not the Canary Islands), Sweden, The UK (but not the Channel Islands).

Though the whole of Cyprus is part of the EU, goods from any area of Cyprus not under effective control of the Government of the Republic of Cyprus are treated as non-EU imports.

Although Gibraltar is part of the EU, it is outside the Community Customs territory. The Customs allowances for outside the EU therefore apply.

Alcohol or tobacco
If you are bringing in alcohol or tobacco goods and we have reason to suspect they may be for a commercial purpose, a Customs officer may ask you questions and make checks, for example about:

the type and quantity of goods you have bought
why you bought them
how you paid for them
whether all your goods are openly displayed or concealed
how often you travel
how much you normally smoke or drink or
any other relevant circumstances.
You are particularly likely to be asked questions if you have more than:

3200 cigarettes, 200 cigars, 400 cigarillos, 3kg tobacco, 110 litres of beer, 90 litres of wine, 10 litres of spirits, 20 litres of fortified wine (such as port or sherry).

The officer will take into account all the factors of the situation and your explanation.

If we are satisfied that the goods are for a commercial purpose we may seize them and any vehicle used to transport them, and may not return them to you.

Be careful if you are pulled up because they usually ask if you want a cigarette and if you don't smoke and say so they've got you. Also don't say they are gifts for some one else, they have to be seen to be for your own use

3€ tops, you'll get the best (the official) price at an 'estanco' or 'tabac', that's a state monopoly shop. You can also get stamps and money orders and other stuff we might expect to get from a post-office (or used to - what are post offices for these days?). If you get your fags from a bar or a machine you'll pay about 10% extra, but hey what's 10% of £1.70. I go to Spain about every 3 months and buy all my fags there and what with cheap flights it pays my travel expenses. I don't bring them back to sell on, they're just for personal use and I don't smoke that much but I can't think of a better reason to keep on smoking - I might die a few years younger but it'll have been a life full of nearly free holidays.

proper brand fags like b&h and malboro and lambert&butler are like 3 euros20cents

but you can get Sokme spanish ones which are just as good for like 2 euros or 2 euros 30 cents
I always like L&M there pretty similar to lamberts and theyre cheaper, or nobel i like too. not as strong as bensons or malboros

unless you normally smoke roll ups, whatever u do, STAY AWAY from Ducados,,,,,,,they will make u throw up!!,,,

varies from 2 to 3 euros for a pack of 20 english ones such as b&h are about 3 euros

U.K. brands such as Bensons, Embassy etc. are around 28 euors for a carton of 200. Other brands such as Marlborough are about 22 euros.
