Kobe always does his best at the end of the season. He knows how to finish, so he should be the league MVP!

I'm a Dallas Maverick fan, but I've gotta say that Steve Nash will get his 3rd consecutive MVP this year. Both he and Nowitzki are great players, but Nash makes everyone around him a better player. The other night against Dallas, Nash had 32 pts (vs Nowitzki's 30 pts) but also had 16 assists. 12 of those assists were to Stoudemire, who had 41 pts. If Nash doesn't get him the ball, Stoudemire doesn't have his big game. Nash poses more problems for defenses (if there is such a thing in the NBA)...guard him and he'll get it to someone else....cut off his passing lanes and he'll score on you.

reasons why nash should not be mvp:
1. even though he gets credit for the suns' success, it is more because of the system that mike d'antoni uses. mike d'antoni is the best fast break coach of the last 10 years. the team would thrive with any good point guard.
2. his stats are inflated because of the fast break system. the suns have more possesions per game than any other team and more chances to score.
3. the suns have the best 1-6 lineup of any team. his job is eaiser because of the talent level of his team (shawn marion is very underrated).
4. high amount of turnovers (although this is somewhat explained by his team having more possesions per game.
give it to dirk

Dirk. Nash has been consistent but Dallas has the best record in the league. Nash's team is filled with studs. The Mav's team isn't bad either, but Dirk has improved his game so much from last year it would be hard not to give it to him.

I think most of you have it right. Nash or Nowitzki. Interesting to note that both are team players and not American. The style of play outside of the US is teamwork. Look what is happening with the US plays internationally. Basketball has evolved into a team game internationally. The same thing happened years ago in Hockey. Canada ruled, but the European countries playing team hockey became more successful. The best individual basketball players come from US, but they have to adjust their play to win. Do you think Iverson will ever be on a championship team?

Dirk Nowitzki. Playing better and better despite two recent setbacks for the Dallas Mavericks.
