A Republican presidential candidate is traveling the country campaigning for votes. He's traveling thorugh a rural area in a state that isn't known for it's support for Republicans. He sees an old farmer out in his farm yard working, so the candidate stops and gets out and walks up the the farmer. He introduces himself and says, "I'm a Republican candidate for president and I'm campaigning through your beautiful state." The farmer says, "Wait just a minute, I want to go get my wife because neither of us have ever seen a Republican before." The farmer runs off and soon returns with his wife. The candidate looks around for something to stand up on so he can give his speach and the only thing he can find is a big pil eof manure. So he steps up to the top of the manure pile and delivers his campaign speach to the farmer and his wife. When he finishes, he steps down from the manure pile and the farmer says, "That's the very first Republican speach I've ever heard."
