I need an topic that will encompass topics that my businesses classes will cover over the next 2 years in college. My degree will be in Business Administration. The idea is that a topic is chosen, then over the next few years, I write a paper in each class connecting the umbrella topic and what the class is covering; I.E. Management skills class.

Does anyone have any ideas? The example that was given by the teacher was "the automotive industry". I'm at a loss.

Perhaps you should take the 'divide and conquer' approach to you umbrella topic?
Let's say if you took the automotive industry...you might apply what you've learnt from each of the classes and apply to different areas relevant to your subject. HRM for the industry. Operation Management. Management in general.
