I live literally around the corner from Amityville.

Yes there is a family living there now. It's widely believed that the whole amityville story was a hoax. It is likely that George and Kathleen Lutzes, who said it was haunted by evil spirits, were trying to capitilize on the DeFeo family murders that occured there. The family that currently resides at 112 Ocean avenue have reported no unusual activity whatsoever.

Yes the house was purchased many years ago and a family still lives there, they have not seen any activity

I don't know, but I DO know somebody lives in the House from "The Goonies." I went to check it out when I lived in Oregon. It's in Astoria. It looks about the same, though it doesn't have that crazy contraption to open the front gate. It was actually empty and for sale when I first saw it, but somebody bought it.
