yeah, it makes people afraid to talk to people in other groups for fear of insulting them. It's placed way to much importance on our words, and negates our actions and intentions.

I think we all have the capability of being mature and secure in our own identity - we should be able to see the intent behind someone's words, and not overreact if they use the wrong words. Too many people are being accused when no harm was meant. People are too sensitive.

Political correctness cannot be blamed for causing isolation or division. Political correctness is an unhealthy reaction that sprang from something far more insidious. Isolation and division already existed. From the beginning of time there have been people who felt that they were better than others, their religion was the only correct religion, their political affiliation is the only proper one, their skin color made them superior, their country was better, etc. If those attitudes did not exist, and everyone was on even keel, then things would be different.

I think there are so many people who feel bruised and disenfranchised that it makes them hypersensitive. That sensitivity causes them to sometimes overreact, which in turn forces others to be politically correct. The outcome is then, greater anger and resentment from those who feel forced into political correctness. The chicken versus the egg theory? I don't know.

exciting question, i imagine you've a level. that's a time period in undemanding words ever used by ability of correct wing human beings desirous to insult left wing human beings. As we are able to work out from the solutions right here, 1/2 the right-wingers look to imagine political correctness is basically what maximum lifelike human beings call respect or sturdy manners. for human beings presented up without this respect, political correctness is the excuse for no longer having, ie making it sound like a foul issue! This includes no longer making use of racist words that a lot of human beings discover offensive, and not in any respect making jokes on the cost of a few thing that someone won't be able to replace. the different 1/2 of the right-wingers look to imagine political correctness is a few style of wierd, mysterious, effective stress that liberals summon up. they can't look to qualify this declare in any respect, in spite of the undeniable fact that that's what they have been informed. alongside with 'wishy washy', 'wooly', 'namby pamby', 'commie', and 'marxist', that's basically between the various insults correct wingers use that do not easily recommend some thing or that they don't realize. besides, see in case you get any real examples or if that's all hogwash! playstation : Skepisky, i imagine the time period afro-american is used no longer instead of 'black', yet whenever you want to be more beneficial particular. Is it compared to afro-carribean and so on, and gives you human beings slightly more beneficial information on your historic previous. Retarded is being phased out because a lot of human beings do discover it offensive, it refers to someone with a psychological disability, no longer basically someone who's dim. back, that's basically the manners issue certainly. And gay is getting used as a perjorative time period? truly? the position? i have not in any respect once heard it utilized in that way, i don't know what planet you reside on!

Political correctness is the bane of this society. It has made the truth unpalatable and convinced the unprepared that they too are entitled to all the rewards of society. It is a damnable attempt by the Left to avoid reality and thus avoid accountability.

Oh yeah. More and more people are not taking the *******'s crap anymore. Slavery is over, Jim Crow is over. When they commit a crime is because of immortality not racism. When they stay on welfare for life, it is laziness not racism. Their stunts are not going to work in a Mexican majority city or state. No white guilt. Then again, I don't have white guilt either. All of the above stems from pc-ness.

I think so. So White people avoid contact with me because they are afraid of offending me. I guess they've had experiences with thin-skinned blacks and liberal Whites who love to be "offended" and expect something in return. I try to tell them I'm not that way, but I don't think they believe me.

Yes. PC is biased...its all for minorities and against whites which causes tensions. Minorities verbally assault one another constantly, we're not worried about being politically correct toward one another, but it is forced upon and expected for whites to be ethnically conscious...
