I am 37w 3d along with my 2nd kid, 1-2cm dialated & 50% effaced (according to the triage nurse last night -We had someone nearly side swipe us last night - i was driving - which set me into some bad contractions but I wasn't dialating anymore so they sent me home).

I have anxiety and bipolar disorders, which has been causing me a lot of stress and anxiety with these last weeks, being so big & she not having room anymore along with situational stress issues are becoming too much for me... so we (me, my mom & hubby) have been trying to talk to my OB about induction (I was induced at 38w 6d with my 1st kid for the same reasons), even the nurses at the triage think that its a good idea, the only one not listening is my OB...

So my question is...

Is there any suggestion that anyone has other than having sex (becuase it hurts me too much) to help this process of going into labor??

Drink alot of water and walk walk walk, no matter how much you don't want to. My OB wouldn't even let me talk to him about being induced. I walked my happy little butt off and I went 4 days over my due date and had a quick and easy painless labor and delivery. Total about 6 hours.
Of course the nurses are going to agree with you because they can't tell you no.
I say WALK....and you and your husband can do something to relax. Just give it a while and since it is your second, she will probably come earlier and faster anyways. Good Luck and Best Wishes.

just answered this another question it may help

It is quite possible to do your own cervical sweep, if you're at ease with your body. You can reach your cervix either while squatting or by lying on your side. It's quite amazing to be able to reach your cervix and tell how dilated you are! Even being able to feel the baby's head with your finger if the cervix is a 2-3cm dilated! A cervical sweep is just when the nurse or Dr runs their finger around the inside of the rim of the cervix, if it's a little dilated this can separate the membranes from the cervix and bring on labour. Very easy to do at home.

also try keeping yourself busy, like doing lots of housework usally can help bring on labour, but not overdoing it good luck

Nope. i'm 36.5 weeks pg and that i'm 2cm dilated and 70% effaced and the toddler has dropped. you need to stay the type you're for some extra weeks or pass at any time. fairly there is not any way of guessing once you will pass into exertions till you're in exertions. stable luck

Honestly, nothing really works. You are well on your way and it wont be longer than a couple of weeks. Although there seems to be a lot on inductions these days, they really are only supposed to be for medical reasons as there is an increase in complications with being induced. When you get pregnant you do so knowing that you are signing up for up to 42 weeks of being uncomfortable and sometimes sick too. Also, having sex when you are starting to dilate is not recommended as it can cause bacteria to enter your uterus. This is why you arent supposed to have sex the last month.

WALK WALK WALK. Walk outside in the sun. Thats also helpful for depression.

Cat backs.

Nipple stimulation.

Just staying as active as possible. Its hard to be depressed when youre active, and your body can better regulate hormones when it gets enough exercise and you eat well and drink water.

Accupuncture! Works wonders for starting labor.
