We have been TTC for over a year now. [Trying to conceive] We were in tracking her cm[cervical mucus] The weird part is that her ovulation day is not till the 17 or 18th day instead of the 14th. Would that also delay the symptoms from usual counters. Like it says that she should be able to test the hcg on the counter of 4 weeks. Would that still be correct?!

I ovulate on day 17 as well, because I have a 31 days cycle. You ovulate 14 days before the start of your next period, not after. I tested 8 days before my period was due and got a posiitve result using these very early tests. It was so early and I wont do that again because it's just too early and miscarriages are more common before the woman misses her period so I was really paranoid. I think she should just wait until she misses her period. Her result would be more clear at that time. MY line was so faint you had to squint to see it.

Ovulation, for most people occurs between ten and sixteen days before menstruation. It's quite normal to not ovulate until the 17th or 18th day of her cycle.

You might try tracking other fertility signs like basal body temperature or using ovulation predictor kits (available along side pregnancy tests in many stores) to get a more prescise idea of when she ovulates.

Take a pregnancy test around when she expects her period, or approximately two weeks after ovulation. At that point, if she is pregnant, it's likely that the levels of hcg would be high enough to measure on most home pregnancy tests.

Good luck.

All those are set on an average 28 day cycle. I doubt your wife has a 28 day cycle.

I have a 38-40 day cycle and ovulate on day 23.

She should test the HCG when she's due for her period. For a 28 day cycle that would be 4 weeks.

I've been ovulating on and off on different days. >.< I can never track it anymore. So it'd be best just to wait to see if she even gets her period if not take her to get tested. Also I'd advice getting hold of a doctor on the issue if you haven't already. They have ways to regulate things out.
