You will need to check the grade of oil and coolant used - they will be optimised for the market.
The air-con system and cooling system may be larger, and the heater less effective (more of an issue on diesel cars) than the UK equivalent. This may also make parts harder to get.
There may be additional oil coolers for the engine and transmission.
Items like heated windscreens, heated seats, heated mirrors may be missing.
Most manufacturers produce a standard car (which we get in the UK), a cold-climate version (Scandinavia, parts of Canada, etc.) and a hot climate version (Africa, south Asia, Central America).

I'd agree with Neil on this, plus at one time at least, cars built specifically for tropical countries were not undersealed, not because it didn't rain but because they never used salt on the roads and it saved a couple of quid. Don't know if that's still the case.

Check out the types of oil especialy the antifreeze they use. They might use a rather mild one in tropical countries so you may need to change it for something more suited the condtions here in the uk. Well i spose you should check out all the fluids really.

BMW's are made in Germany which is not known for warm weather. As long as the coolant is set for the temperature they should not be a problem. The bigger problem would be what UK customs has to say about it.

Why would there be? Vehicles aren't built differently depending on where they are to be used. As long as you have antifreeze sufficient to the coldest temperatures expected, and the proper weight of oil, it shouldn't make any difference at all.
