I'm a photographer and have just started an online magazine. certain friends are saying it's a waste of time but I figured work at it six months and if it's sucessful, get an amazing website built and advertise on it for income. it's a lifestyle magazine aimed at men and women 14 upwards. music interviews and reviews, artists, articles, promotion for people who don't get promoted. it's called shoot life magazine on myspace. the first issue was released last month and it's a tad messy because I got let down by a lot of people and it's a bit rushed but is it worth putting this much energy into something that I know has a very low chance of suceeding? opinions please.

you need to decide on your target audience a little more.
you say its a lifestyle magazine for men and women that's fine but suggests an older audience, but you contradict by saying its for 14+. you cant have a lifestyle magazine aimed at both 14+ and older people i am 23 and would have no interest at all in things aimed at 14 year old kids!
i would stick at what you re doing but figure out who exactly you are aiming at

Your friends are just trying to protect you, but NEVER NEVER NEVER give up on your dreams. And if it doesn't take off at first, keep on keeping on.Remember to take advice from people who have made it, and have been there. You wouldn't ask a hairstylist haw to put in new plumbing.
