When i plug my laptop into the internet it always has a very slow connection speed. The network connection i use is very fast (not sure exactly what it is) and others who are on the network get very fast connections. Are there possibly any setting i can change to make my connectio faster?

Using registry cleaner can fix your computer and then make your connection faster,Why?the reason is that there are some regsitry errors in your computer to cause "computer slow".
Everytime you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry. You need to scan and clean your computer with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Regisry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically. It even can speed up your computer by 300% or more!

Yes and no. You are probably already aware that the speed of your Internet connection is the bottleneck. The slowest component is the true speed. For example: Internet Speed: 1.5 Mbs Wireless: 26 Mbs throughput (54Mbs 802.11g example) Wired: 1000 Mbs or 100 Mbs Website A (such as Yahoo): 200 Mbs (just an example, not a true statistic) Website B (such as some site in Tanzania): 56Kbs The wireless can shove the information very quickly to your computer, but until it gets the information to pass along, it is idle. Of course, the web pages you surf have to also give information at the speed of your internet. Many of them will throttle users to ensure the Internet site has enough bandwidth to handle everyone accessing the site. So, some pages will limit you to 1Mbs. In that case, it is the slowest part of the equation. In short, your speed will be as fast as the slowest link. And yeah, I am sure people are happy to argue that an 802.11n is going to be faster than an 802.11g, but I don't think the average user would ever know this (assuming the link is not too far).

It's probably your router that's slowing your wireless network down. Most laptops usually have 802.11g built in them. And your router must be either 802.11a or 802.11b. I'd suggest changing your router to an 802.11g because G is the most popular and the fastest network yet.

Good Luck

What kind of router do you have and what kind of wireless card do you have on your laptop? Either the wireless card you are using is too slow or it is your router. Make sure your wireless card supports wireless G and has a speed of at least 54MB. I had this same problem on an old laptop I bought of ebay, the built in wireless was only wireless A and very slow so I bought a 54G cardbus adapter for it.

It also could be your router too make sure your router supports wireless G.
