I received income in the U.S.A. in January and February 2006 but after divorce I moved back to Peru. I also still get interests on a C.D. I have at a bank in the U.S.A.
If I need to file for taxes for 2006, What forms do I need?

It depends on how much you made but you did NOT give us any numbers to work with .
The standard deduction is $5150 for a single plus the $3300 per person exeption (if you have custody of kids , multiply by the #s )

It will depend on a number of things. Are you a US citizen or have you applied for citizenship? You do not have to a US citizen to be a US tax resident. Depending on how long you were in the US for during the tax year and the previous years can help determine if you are subject to US tax on your worldwide income or your income earned in the US. Were you in the US prior to 2006 and for how long? Did you file a US tax return in the past? adamsmall24@yahoo.com
