I would say no, since everything is going to be completely black. However, you can wear a black dress if your accessories have colour such as your purse, belt, scarve, etc. A completly black attire for a wedding will give the wrong impression such as that you don't want to be there and mourning the day as you would a funeral. Wearing all completely black gives the impression that although you are physically there, you are opting to not celebrate the festive occassion. It would be fine if there was some colour. I don't know if the belt is built onto the dress, if not try a different colour.

Well, It depends what kind of black dress. If it is dressy looking with maybe a patern or a nice shape to it and if it's not too long than it would be okay. If you are going to wear that black dress, dont wear a belt with it, it might be "over doing it". What you should do it get very outgoing or silver jewelry, with an elegent necklace and get open toed high-heels, and/or closed toe pointed high-heals. i hope I'v halped you!good luck

hint hint-for your make-up, don't wear dark colors, tryy going with the light/pale colors like light grey/silver with a mettalic white just where you eyebrow ends and your eye lid starts.

you sound like you are going to a funeral! If you are going to wear a black dress then dress it up with a little color! Wear a colored belt with shoes that match the belt and a matching purse or something. DO NOT wear all black to a wedding. This could send the wrong message to the wedding party. They may think you are sending condolences instead of good wishes!

Of course it is if it is your choice. White for weddings is a recent tradition it used to be way way in the far past white for funerals and black for weddings.

That's really weird because my sister is going to a wedding today in a beautiful black dress and cute black heels. I sure hope that's alright, I would do it.

It's just fine, just dress it up with bright jewelry, nice white pearls, or some jazzy silver or gold necklace.
I wore black to my sons wedding, I asked the bride to be first what she thought about it, and she didn't mind at all.
I wore gray and black with a sparkly top and fancy jacket.
My jewelry was sliver and (fake) diamonds.
darling, I must say....!

One dress rule. You cant wear solid black dresses or solid white dresses to weddings. This will be the happiest day of their life. A new life together for them not a funeral. and You can only have one bride.

if u can only find a black dress, right on. be different, but maybe a white belt or a pop of red on the belt or shoes will be more contrasting and it might look more interesting.

Yes its ok! Nothing will happen or no law will be broken if you do.

Me and my friends have always worn that cute little black dress to just about any function (weddings, graduations, etc). As long as you look good in it, wear it well!

You go girl!!!
