People who can't spell, can't use proper grammar are people who have either quit school (and will become a burden to society), don't attend enough to learn anything (they will also be a burden) and have no way of clearly expressing themselves.

Then these intellectually challenged individuals come on here spouting off about things they couldn't possibly have any information about...nor facts. They can't read so the info they get is either from some odd-ball talk radio person or from watching television.

They can't spell, so one is forced to try to interpret what he is trying to say....

I say that if you cannot express a thought clearly in one sentence, an idea in a paragraph, use punctuation, use spell check, then expect to be humiliated.

Because making fun of someone is often something people do without giving it a lot of thought.

People who take the time to formulate a carefully reasoned answer are also more likely to check their spelling.

On the other hand, people should focus on the substance of the question or response more than the technicalities of the grammar and spelling. It would be rude, for example, for me to point out that your own question is a run-on sentence, and therefore grammatically incorrect.

because if you are going to try and argue with someone the least you could do is make sure everything is spelled correctly...

you your lose credibility if you can't spell...plus i mean come on, how hard is it to either open up word to see if it's spelled correctly or just click on the little "check spelling" link above the text box...

i don't make fun of them, but i do point it out sometimes...because when you are trying to pose a serious argument and you want to be taken seriously, use the spell check....when people spell "breed" "bread" i just can't take them seriously.

My teachers in school used to criticize my spelling, especially my English teacher. My father will still criticize my grammar.
Use check spelling, it is useful.

I don't see a lot of people making fun of people that won't use spell check. You seem a bit sensitive.
I see people spelling liberal, lieberal. Maybe they spell it that way in another country.
Get a grip my friend.

Sometimes if a user posts an hostile question, aimed at Reps or Dems, and then can't even spell properly. . . . well then they just opened themselves to be fair game for insults . The inability to spell also indicates other inabilities !!
Small errors are acceptable, but not gross violations of the English language !!

For a number of reasons.

A) There is a spell checker
B) The person is probably attempting to ask a question that is accusatory or inane while attempting to sound intellectual. It therefore just becomes a bad question.
C)It is indicative of a lack of education and/or real critical thought.

because they think their "stuff" don't stink .. and they want to point out that they think yours does.

you may need spell check, but they need a reality check.

this is a q&a forum. it sometimes includes people from different countries with different spellings. when i'm not comfortable with posting in the UK with some "spell checked" version of a word ... i use my good ol'e USA spelling version. only in the UK they aren't so narrow-minded. same with Australia Y!A. good mates!
