Mustaine is better.. hands down. In a technical and musical sense, his riffage is superior. Hammet has the Metallica chops, not Hetfield. Too bad Mustaine can't sing like Hetfield though..

Without a doubt, Dave can outdo James. He really can rip it up! And you do know that most of the riffs from Metallicas first two albums were written by Dave? Dave does solos often too, and James are rare, and usually only mellow type solos.

mustaine, way way way better. nothing against James, but Mustaine just plain can play more styles than James. have you heard "the system has failed" disc? metallica has NEVER done anything that tight. and i've seen both bands tons of times in concert, but megadeth was always tightest.

(frusciante is a total space cadet and not anywhere close to his original level of playing. dont do heroin kids... i used to like the chili peppers, but cant stand them these days. they got so bland and "radio" sounding. they used to be full of fire, even if you didnt like their stuff, they had amazing energy, now? they got so tame....)
