i just stopped drinking alcohol (except for an occassional sip from my husband's drink or a rare glass of wine). i stopped going out and partying so much -- got a little older, wiser.
i found that i felt better -- i didn't have to drag myself out of bed, i had more energy, my skin had a better glow. it's difficult to explain -- it was just better all over. it made me happier too.
if you want to see the difference, try to give it up for a month and see how you feel. i also think i felt better because i wasn't staying out late, drinking in bars where there was a lot of smoke. if you are around a lot of smoke -- that drags you down too. good luck.

I feel more energized in the mornings.
Having said that, giving up alcohol full stop isn't enough, you have to change your whole lifestyle. So, I also gave up the TV and snacking (always a warm up to a drink). I started going out more and took up a sport. I have become more self aware of what I eat too.
For all that 'good' result, life is a tad boring>

Yes. The better felling is not so much a constant thing, but in the mornings (and afternoons), not feeling hung over is key!

Yes, it felt better almost as soon as I did so. It changed my life and it can do the same for you. Listen to those who answered prior to this message as they know of what they speak.
