Both have got great sides to their characteristics, however the UK is much more diverse, in terms of scenery etc and has millions more people - it's also much larger. I've lived in both and now spend time in both, more in the UK though.

The Netherlands also suffers from busy roads, try their motorways on Fridays! There is also crime, though they have lower underage pregnancies.

It's also going to depend on other factors too, such as future pensions etc. Amsterdam is quite expensive to live in, though not as bad as central London.

Good luck! Rob

I am English and I have lived in Holland for nearly 10 years. It has higher taxes, well overcrowded and way more cars and bikes on the road than UK, though crime is less of a problem but it depends where you live. The food is horrible and there is nothing is remotely close to even Netto never mind Sainsburys here. The people, especially the women are generally unfriendly and would prefer it if foreigners including Brits left their country, which currently I am trying to do. Goto the NL forums at expatica.com to get an idea of other people opinions of living in Holland. Seriously, the German site has far less scathing views from their expats.

Lol..thats a cute question, both countries are similiar in its own way, visited both countries, london is of coz more popular with all that shopping u can do in Harrod's & Oxford Street but Holland isnt that bad either.I think if the city is developing rapidly, things wud definately cost more, attracts ppl to work / stay there so there isnt much different which city is better. We live in Stockholm, find everything pricey too! Plus our tax can be rather high.

everything is taxed in Europe. If you don't want overcrowding move to the New MExico, USA Desert. And all cities have crime. You might want to consieder staying out of big citys, more like small towns, or even a farm. The Netherlands and England are filled with them.

You think its overcrowded in the UK, try it in the USA, its really crowded. I'd try living in the netherlands, sounds cool. I envision some hot Dutch brunette, in a plaid blue dress wearing clogs, ahhhhhh mannnn. Hotttt.
