Come on, were not asking who has the NFLs biggest ego, are we? Who cares if Chad Johnson does an elaborate dance everytime he scores, people come to see him play, and thats all just for show. Plus hes a wide receiver, and they all think theyre on top of the world. But, alot of people think the best is Steve Smith, because of his athleticism, his skill at wide out, and his speed. What will really prove Steve Smith is when they play Denver and Champ Bailey, that will prove who is the best.

Right Now:
1 Steve Smith
2 Marvin Harrison
3 Chad Johnson

Marvin Harrison is one of the best all time, but his QB is so good, that in order to put him on top, you need to give him a QB thats not as good as Peyton Manning, and see how he does.

Ones to watch:
Calvin Johnson- Could be the best ever one day, perfect in all aspects of being a wide out.

Ted Ginn Jr- Has superhuman speed and is a ticking time bomb on kick returns. Will leave most corners in the dust.

Torry Holt, he had an off year i would say this year, but he is the best all around receiver and still puts up big numbers no matter who throws him the ball. He is an excellent route runner and has amazing hands, he has good enough speed to get by most coverage, ideal size and can throw a block. This is under rated from the WR position, I would like to say Steve smith but Torry Holt blocks better and i think they are comparable as far as receiving and route running goes.

it depends on how u define best. I think Steve Smith is the best WR in the NFL right now, but statwise, u might lean to someone whos consistent like Andre Johnson. But I really think Steve Smith can work with any quarterback, as opposed to the Marvin Harrison/Manning love affair. On a side note, Chad Johnson might also be one, but i dont like his attitude and ocho cinco bs

Holt is the best receiver based on performance and Harrison is second. Especially when you consider they shared alot of catches and TDs other receivers and the RBs plus the fact that they are not egotistical jerks like Owens and Johnson. See stats at the bottom.

I used the stats for the last 4 years and divided them by the number of games played. During that time-frame all of these players either had injuries, their teams had a sub par season, ran the ball more or had other good receivers. The receiver cannot always account for their teams that don't score or teams that have another receivers to share the stats.

For good measure I added Jerry Rice during similar seasons in his career. Consider his numbers against Holt and Harrison and you will see why these 2 are the best.

This is how I would rank the top 5 receivers (Not including Rice).

...................... Rec ......... Yards ......... TD
1) Holt.............105 ......... 1444 ......... 10.6
2) Harrison....... 92 ......... 1264 ......... 12.6
3) Smith........... 95 ......... 1326 ......... 9.2
4) Owens.......... 89 ......... 1306 ......... 12.9
4) C Johnson......92 ......... 1357 ......... 8.8
Rice..................90 ......... 1353 ......... 13.0

Steve Smith. Chad Johnson is good, but I get sick and tired of his ego and don't enjoy watching him. When I see Steve Smith score, he celebrates with his Team and goes and sits down. He doesn't run around doing dances and acting like he's a six year old. Definitely Steve Smith. Carson Palmer is also better than Jake Delhome, so Smith has less to work with.

Torry Holt hands down. The man has had 7 straight 1,000 yard seasons with a variety of different qbs. One could make an arguement for Marvin Harrison but you have to remember that he has the best qb ever throwing to him, not to mention Reggie Wayne is seeing a lot more.
