Most of the problems isn't Vista but the users crappy PC that cant handle it, or the user's limited knowledge. Vista is working fine for me.

Some of that depends on your hardware. Unless you have a fairly new computer, you probably would have to do some hardware upgrades just to get the same performance out of vista. For now though, I would say stick with XP, as there are still a lot of driver and program incompatibility issues which need to be worked out. I usually let somebody else be the beta tester for things like this, then buy in a little later after the bugs have been worked out.

Vista itself works fine, with new computers. The problem that Microsoft is facing are the old computers upgrading. For some unknown reason, the software and processer, hard drive, and other items are not cooperating with what vista is telling them to do. Also, some older programs (not even neccessarily 1 year old), have not been able to comply with what vista is telling them to do. If you get vista, get it with a new computer designed to take it. If you want to stay with your current computer, keep XP.

You will have to upgrade to vista eventually because its the latest windows operating system and even if its horrible, everyone will use it. For now though, windows Vista costs a lot (home basic isn't worth it if its free) and has a lot of conflicts with old programs. It uses a lot of power in its aero interface. If you have a computer older than one or two years, I would just buy vista pre-intalled when I buy a new computer later.

Do not upgrade to vista. It has lot of problems. For example, lot of softwares may not work properly in Vista. Stick to windows XP.

IMHO vista isn't all it's hyped up to be (have it). It's cartoonish, uncompatible with most fav and freeware programs, very unstable and complicated. I enjoy XP because I'm finally familiar with it, so I am comfortable using it. Vista takes up a LOT of system resources and space. Why fix XP when it wasn't really broken? New versions of any program just means less user options/more restrictions/higher costs. But of course its up to you! Why not try MAC if you have the option? You know, once you go MAC - you never go back!

No, wait and see. In many articles the experts mentioned that vista is no way better than XP.
