We honeymooned at Sandals in Ocho Rios Jamaica! Getting married there was a thought, and it would have been absolutely PERFECT if we had. But we're glad that we had a wedding that all our friends and family could attend and share. If you don't have a large family and you choose quality over quantity when it comes to friends.....then check out Sandals (couples only all inclusive resort). I know they have wedding packages, and they have several resorts around the Caribbean that include the Bahamas, Jamaica, and St. Lucia. For around $6000 - $7000 you could have one hell of a nice sunset wedding on the beach and stay for 7-10 days with all your meals and alcohol included! How can you beat that??? Good luck!

I got married in St Lucia last April, at the hotel Rendezvous. Its fantastic way to get married I never regretted doing it there. We got married under a decorated arch on the beach, but there was other areas around the hotel. We had steel drums, photographer and a video. The hotels wedding co-coordinators did everything, so there was no stress for me. I also had a local hairdresser to do my hair and lovely bouquet with flowers of the island. The wedding was free but the extras were to pay for. I say the negative experience for me was not all my family could be there, also my arms swelled up with heat.

My Daughter got married in Antigua. It was a very good ceremony conducted by a retired Methodist Minister in a Beach location.
Everything was handled by the Representative at the Resort and although there was a cost, we never got a bill!

Oh! It was legal, the Certificate had to be applied for at the Registrar's office in the town.

Did you think that all people in the Caribbean are single? Try Hedonism 2 in Runaway Bay, Jamaica.

It is always better to marry in your own home town. You can have a registered marriage at the town hall without any wedding ceremonies. No expenses at all !

pros: -its simply beautiful.
-theres no packing for your honeymoon
-easy to organise
-cheap to have it there. minumum £5000 as opposed to
£25000 and up in england
cons: -expense of flying your family members in if they cant
afford it themselves
-theres more of a time commitment for family members -> two or even three days as opposed to one. plus jet lag

as you see there are more pros than cons
