Throw up your hands. There is probably no way you can get this work back, which is why making a habit of saving regularly is very important.

If possible, set your program to save every five minutes or so like Microsoft Word. If it is a Windows laptop, change the power options to warn you when the battery reaches around 15% but not shut down until 10% or so. If it is a Mac, there should similar options.

save alot when ur battery is low and let it warn you. Also sometimes even if you don't save, word can recover a document for you. Wouldn't depend on it though
