is it possible for a 6 year old child to lay assault charges against an 8 year old? Is it possible to sue them too?

Assault charges -- with the help of the parent or guardian, yes. It happens, but it goes to the police only in case of injury from bullying. If found guity, the 8 year old will not go to jail, but will be under probation with social workers checking up on the family for the probationary period.

Lawsuits are not very popular here and I don't think it would cross anyone's mind to sue an 8 year old. But it is a free country and the child, acting through the parent/legal guardian, could file suit. It would probably make the tabloid news -- and the plaintiff would certainly loose.

No! The only way would be if the childs parents or their legal guardians file suit on behalf of the child.

No, not likely unless your parents/guardians are involved.
