I need a power window regulator for my 2001 ford focus, left front window. I have searched online and everytime I get close, I see that Focus is not on the list. WHY??? I need it replaced badly, and I don't want to pay the 100's of $$$ again to have it done at a Ford dealership. I have found window motors, but not the regulator for a Focus.

Help! I need my power window because of my job :(

Dealer only?! That's just not right. I will call some junk yards. Now I'm even more adamant about not paying a dealer (unless I have no choice and then maybe I'll just buy a whole new non-Ford vehicle instead because I am THAT stubborn)

Rakel, my God, do you ever cook your own meals (what about the poor chefs?), clean your own house (housecleaners?), mow your own grass (gardeners?), pump your own gas (full-service stations?)???? If I had lots of money to spare, I wouldn't mind paying someone to do this for me. But I don't HAVE lots of money, and so would like to save as much as I can (not getting anything for free). That's what people usually do; they save money on the things they can do themselves unless they just don't care about the expense. I don't think that's such a horrible thing. And I went to a ford parts dealer website to see if I could get a genuine ford replacement part, and they didn't have it there either. So unless I'm wrong, I can't even get the part from a dealer and replace it myself. I have to pay them when I can do it myself, and yeah, that annoys me! Especially when I'll have to do it all again in about a year. Now, don't go changing your own oil or brakes or anything crazy like that.

Okay, I found one (a genuine Ford part). What a relief! The only money I can afford to put into my car is for maintenance (haven't even replaced the cd changer that stopped working 3 years ago), so every dollar saved is like finding a pot of gold to me. Thanks to everyone!

Unfortunately, you're SOL!!! It ceaselessly amazes me how everyone wants everything for free!!! What do YOU do for a living??? Whatever it is, can I have some of it for FREE??? It comes down to this, either go to the dealer parts department, and order one (which comes complete with window motor on your particular vehicle), and install the part yourself to cut down on the cost. Or pay someone to do it, plain and simple. If you want to purchase another vehicle (ie jump on the "Honda and Toyota" bandwagon), don't think that it will be any less expensive to serivce those vehicles. If anything, it will cost you MORE!!!

I don't have lots of money either. The reason your local Ford dealer doesn't have a window regulator, is because it's NOT a frequently sold part, or commonly failing item. I am not suggesting there is anything wrong with trying to save some money. If you want to attempt to do the job yourself, I would gladly help you out. Give me your full e-mail address, and I'll e-mail you the step by step procedure, with illustrations. While I am not suggesting that YOU fall under this category, there are idiots out there, who put $4,000 wheels, $10,000 stereo systems on their cars, but they ***** at having to spend $300.00 to have their brakes fixed. Those are the ones who piss me off. If you think the dealership is a rip-off, think of it this way, for every $100 per labour hour charged (assuming it's $100 per hour at your dealership), the tech doing the job only gets $24.00 per hour. Yet he has to about MINIMUM $40,000 (out of his own pocket) for HIS OWN tools. Food for thought.

Try your local Junk Yard, or Pick a Part yards... they have cars of all kinds that have been in accidents and part them out. 1000 per cent petter than gong to the dealer!
Also check local auto parts stores, Auto Zone and places like that.

try my favorite used parts site.....www.junkyarddog.com
the regulator will be the same on all models of focus being that it's a 4 door or 2 door model...make sure you tell them which door yours has.
