Perhaps Beckham is one of the best freekick specialists in the world. Not a lot of power but with a lot of accuracy. At the end of the day, a nice freekick is the one that gets you the results.

Becks did that for Man Utd and Real Madrid.

just after the ref has placed the ball, he comes and gives it a little roll with both hands while placing it on the spot, maybe 22-28meters outside the box. He takes around 5 steps diagonally, i.e. like if the ball was 12 o'clock on a clock, he would take steps in the 8 o clock direction, waits for the ref's whistle and makes a small jogging run up, but he really leans back as he takes it, to give his foot more angle on the ball.....and...and ...its a GOOOOOOOOOOOAL!!!

"There is nothing more beautiful in the game than the sight of one of Mr. Beckham's free kicks arching over the defenders's wall and curling into a corner of the net, or one of his signature cross shots cannonading off his foot and speeding like a guided missile toward one of his leaping teammates," opined New York Times writer Warren Hoge.

Beckham's freekicks are not necessarily powerful; he uses curl to full advantage. He take a run up from the side and gets loads of dip
