was reading about ancient gods of the roman world. wondering what the difference is between them and their function of these gods. Because they look very similar to me.

Mars was the Roman god of war.Initially the Roman god of fertility and vegetation and a protector of cattle, fields and boundaries, Mars later became associated with battle as the growing Roman Empire began to expand, and he was identified with the Greek god Ares.

Apollo was the archer-god of medicine and healing, light, truth, archery and also a bringer of death-dealing plague; as the leader of the Musesas.As Apollo Helios he became identified with Sol, the Sun.

The major difference are the relms of which the gods rule. MArs is the god of war. Apollo is like the opposite of Mars. Apollo is the god of the sun and fine arts, music, and prophecy. They are different as well because of their personalities. Apollo has a more kind manner;whereas, Mars is more cruel and warfarish.

Nothing. Many roman god are greek gods. But it is Zeus and Apollo. Mars links up with Ares
