Gum, slippers, lip gloss (for when people come to visit after you have your baby) it sounds shallow I know, my own body wash, shampoo and conditioner they usually make you have a shower the next day, it's nice to have your own things. You probably have this, but your own pillow. Good luck and congratulations!!

The best thing I brought was the MP3 where I kept all the songs from Enya. 'May it be' is my favourite. Throughout the labour, I was not on any pain killer nor that 'smelly gas mask'. And I did it just within 4 hrs! Nope, no pain at all. The only time I felt pain was.. when my hubby started to tell jokes when I was having contraction. Ouch!
Lastly, bring along your own super long whisper pads. Hospital use antiques.. thick pad with string.. Oh my god!
Good luck and enjoy the process!

Super comfortable clothes and some slippers. I agree with the post about the shower stuff...you will end up paying a ton if you buy it in the hospital store. Also, think about packing a detangler...my hair was really tangled in the back from laying down.

Definatly take you own toiletries. It is awesome to be able to get up and take a shower with your own things. Also one thing I took with me on my second and third was a journal. When ever I felt up to it, I could right down what was happening at that moment. It was great, their baby books have much more info about the labor and delivery than my first's does :-{. Once it's all over you kind of forget all that happened and just focus on your baby. Hope this helps and good luck with the baby.

I overpacked! The only one that even opened that bag was dh. The only things I used from it were:
1. My chain purse style carry all. I had chapstick, ponytail holders, and my insurance card. LOL. Yup, that's all I used :)) The hospital provided everything else. In fact, they insisted I used a special body wash while there. And, their undies were so much more comfortable!!

In addition to the good smelling soap and shampoo and clothes that fit (yes, probably maternity for a few more weeks), remember a good book, your toothbrush, and a camera. Be sure the camera battery is charged.

I always overpack for everything. I barely opened my bag when I was there. I think the only thing I got out was my walkman, and my clothes to go home.
(which didn't fit me, and I wore my maternity clothes home.)
