When our first baby was born he took the week off to stay home and help me. He would get up every two hours during the night even if he didn't do anything he would still be up, dossing off but up.
Our second baby is due on Easter day and last night we talked about having two children. We both agreed were in it together. That's what it's all about, we didn't have children to put them off on the other person.
I'm so proud to have a husband that understands the concept of family and how hard it actually is to do it all on your own.
He works full time but he still has my back :)

Hi there!!
In my household, I get up Sunday-Thursday nights. Then on Friday and Saturday nights my husband gets up. We have a 6 month old and she still likes a bottle throughout the night.
This schedule really works for us. He gets his sleep for work during the week and then on weekends I get to sleep in. I would recommend this to families. It eases the stress on the Mom, or Dad whichever is the stay at home parent.!!

I am usually in a deep sleep and my husband has a bit of insomnia, so he does get up before I do. When my 2 and 3 year old where infants he usually got up to bring the my son or dtr in my room. I breast fed, so i had no choice but to get up. We both work and sh are responsibilities. If my kids get up now, then my husband brings them into the room and they sleep with me, he will go somewhere else to sleep. This way we all get a good night sleep, ofcourse not everyone believes in sleeping with the kids.

When my son was a newborn he'd get up with me and help. He was such a great helper!! Especially when I felt like I couldn't go on anymore he'd step right in. Some nights he was up until 5 am then left for work at 7:30 am. Eventually he'd take over night shift at 3/4 am until he had to leave for work.

He's such a great man!

Now, I get up with ds. I stay home so I don't mind at all. And, on the weekends if ds is sick and I've been up he'll gladly take over while I nap.

No, because I stay home with the kids and he has to get up at 6:30 and go to work. My oldest is in first grade and I have 2 year old. I get a nap in the afternoon.

I am the husband and I got up three times tonight with our 6 month old.

Fortunately for you, I am awake to answer this question....because of the this question.

What moron in there right mind would give me a thumbs down for my answer? Obviously some disgruntled housewife who thinks she should sleep all day and night while her husband gets up and works....well that is my guess anyways.

I did as we lived in a small place and the baby woke me up . So why not get up ? My wife was exhausted so I let her sleep.

Look, the baby woke up every four hours. So I would get up refuel the baby and change the filter.

Don't trust the label on the diapers. They say 12 to 18 pounds. Believe me they don't hold that much.

Not usually, but I'm a SAHM so he's the one out the door in the morning. I don't mind it at all.

Recently one was up with stomach virus and he was still awake so he stayed up with her. And right now, we have two sick and he will get up with one while I'm caring for the other.

So, yeah, he helps when needed, but on the average night, I'm the one up with the kids (when needed)

Yeah my hubby does, although Millie is 1 next week and still gets up most nights so which ever of us gets up has a little moan about it!!! If it's in the evenings and we're both up we take it in turns.
He cooks, cleans and looks after us all, oh and works full-time! I'm a SAHM ,although i do sell on ebay, so i do consider myself extremely lucky to have him.

Yes, when my kids were first born, he would always get up in the middle of the night to take care of them so I could rest. After the first month, it's pretty much, who hears the baby first, gets up.
