No, but hahaha it is in Ireland, except its called a Bank holliday here not a federal holiday, because all the banks closed on that day!
Its not really a religious holliday in ireland as he is the Patron st of the country and Ireland is still mainly catholic anyway!

No, it's not. I work for an entity that observes federal holidays and this isn't one of them. Good thing, too-- have to get my St. Pat's cards ready to go out. At least they'll be postmarked the right day!
