The sum of all the numbers is 1 + 2 + 3 + ... = 36

If you take a face on one side of the cube, it has 4 of the numbers, and if you take a face on the opposite side, it has to have the other 4 numbers. So each face has to have half the numbers. So each face has to have half the sum of all the numbers which is 36/2 = 18 (Answer C)

The answer is A

2 + 3 + 4 + 5 = 14
1 + 2 + 5 + 6 = 14
1 + 2 + 3 + 8 = 14
1 + 3 + 4 + 6 = 14

C

The sum of the numbers 1 - 8 is 36. For each side to have the same sum, that sum has to be right in the middle. 36 / 8 * 4 = 18
