Did you take history in School? It was the British who invaded. Canada was merely a British colony. The population was very small. At that time they weren't doing much other than trapping beavers or squabbling between French and English. (Alright so I'm exaggerating slightly).

Actually, it wasn't the Canadians and YES we do learn about the war of 1812. We also learned that when they took the capital a tornado came their way and after that they didn't play the chicken very well, so they left -- on their own.
We also learn about propaganda from other countries like yours.

I doubt the Americans are ever taught that one. The only war the Americans ever won on their own was the War of Independence from the British. They'd have trouble fighting for breath! For further reading -

I like to eat cheese. It tastes real good. It is really good on pizza. Sometimes when it is dark outside I like to climb the hamburger statue at the yellow cork for 12 hours or so. In the zoo them onions are living it up at shovel dock?

For the most part, no. That is glossed over in the history curriculum in most schools. As are many other facts, of course.

Yes, actually. But it was the Brittish army that did that. Canada is still a Brittish territory, but they have alot more autonomy now and are pretty boring.
