I'd start asking myself WHY is it that people are treating me thus, then I'd do something about it instead of moaning about it all the time

I'm a 35 yr. old paranoid-schizophrenic, and have been clinically so since about the age of 20 or 21.

The problem is two-fold difficult: because you are 'different' than other people around you, or the people you meet, there is very little you can do to 'gain' acceptance from them. In other words, what do you have in common with others that would make them want to, or begin to, accept you? If you have 'problems' that they don't, you are operating from a basis which is foreign to them, so they are going to treat you 'odd' and 'differently'.

The second difficulty is that, because they treat you odd, they further establish the social-psychological dysfunction within you, so that your 'data' for determining what is real is becoming more and more skewed.

Imagine being 5'5" and trying to find 'normal' clothes at the Big N' Tall store. The same idea fits here: the 'normal' that other people experience is not the 'normal' that you experience, and you will be the only one who suffers when you try to conform to them.

Your best bet is to isolate yourself from them, but to re=orient your social circle around like-minded people. If that means going online and getting into groups of a similar interest or situations, do so. If you love playing RPG's, go online and find a group of people who dig RPG's. In other words, don't go to an empty pantry and try to find something to eat.

You fight the 'normalcy' of others by standing up for the 'normalcy' of your own life, whatever that may be.

Sounds like a perception problem. There is a test that can help you determine your personality type. There are 16 classifications. when you find the one you are and read more about it it will help youlearn how to fit in the world. I for example am a ENPF. It is very eye opening and insitful to read about this stuff. it may help you understand the people around you if you read about the other personality types and learn there strehgths ane weekness.

firstly i would have a good look at myself to see why this has happened in the first place. if it was something i had done i would try to fix it in myself. i have to say i have no idea how i would go about fixing it. It would be a nightmare situation thats for sure. im a pretty strong minded woman though so imagine i would have a go at fighting it. interesting question

Things are not as bad as they seem, also you are not social outcast, for god sake your on Y/A, and people here can be your friend. Also no one here is ostracizing you. Don't fight just beat with their own game.

hhmmm.....How would you fight something like that?I guess if it were that bad you'd just have to crawl in a hole.Go be a hermit.I don't see how you could fight back..there would always be someone who wouldn't like you.It would take a massive amount of energy and effort to change that way people thought about you and I don't think most people could do it.

Firstly, I wouldn't give up on people, there are good and evil people in this world, but if I didn't know who to trust I'd learn to trust myself more. Know the people who can hurt you the most are those who you trust and on whom you depend.

Carry two umbrellas, so that you can use one for those nearest to you, but when one of those who you're covering turns on you, you're always covered! (Don't ever loose u in us).

I once worked with someone who thought that was happening to her in the workplace, but it wasn't really.
she couldn't get it out of her head though and nothing you could say would make her see it any differently, she ended up totally paranoid though and in the end she left
