It sounds as if your computer has spyware and/or adware on it that needs to be removed. There are a couple of things you can do to clean it up. First, download, install and scan your computer with Ad-Aware SE Personal:
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
Just let it scan your computer, and let it remove all of the stuff that it finds.
Then download, install, update and scan your computer with Spybot Search & Destroy:
http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10401314.html?tag=lst-0-1
Again, allow the program to scan and remove all of the junk it finds on your computer.
Unfortunately, these two programs, as good as they are, often don't get all of the spyware out of your computer, because spyware makers design new spyware all of the time, and often write their programs so that normal cleaning programs like those above won't work. So I would also recommend you going to the Tech Support Guy forum and registering as a member, and starting a thread in the Security forum there. The experts there will clean your computer up free of charge. Sometimes on weekends and holidays you will need to be patient, as they do this on a voluntary basis:

Good luck!

Try booting your computer using the safe mode. You can do this by pressing F8 once the computer starts, before the windows loading screen comes out. Then choose safe mode. After that you will have to scan the computer your anti-virus again and delete/clean the virus. Scanning the computer in safe mode enables you to clean/delete more viruses than scanning in the normal mode. If this does not work, try to go to http://www.bullguard.com and download the trial version of the anti-virus and scan your computer. Bullguard is a really good anti-virus. I've been using it for 3 months now and it has cleaned all the virus in my computer, including trojans, worms, virus, and spywares. The trial version is good for 2 months, and it is a full running version. Try it out, you won't regret =) Good luck!

The NTRootkit-U Trojan can be removed by any McAfee Virus Scan with having an updated DAT file version 4673 and engine version 4.4.00. If you currently don't have one installed or what A/V you have there has been compromised, worry not. You could use any online AV like BitDefender. But if you're considering an AV solution other than what you have there, one of the best AV scanners I know is Esset's NOD32. It has a very good rating in Virus Bulletin.

Try to download a Rootkit removal tool (search for this on yahoo or google) and scan your system with that removal tool. I recommend F-Secure or Sophos Rootkit removal tools. Both are free. Here is a list of some good removal tools for you: http://www.antirootkit.com/software/index.htm Good luck.
PS: another option is to download antispy softwares like Adaware (by Lavasoft), Spybot Search & Destory, a-squared Free and the Spyware Terminator -- all these programs are also free to download.

An anti virus cannot clean a trojan, you need anti spyware. You also need to switch off System Restore and run it in safe mode.
Go to Start - programs - accessories - system tools - system restore and switch it off, because it will be infected and the trojan will re-install itself when you restart your pc.
Run your anti spyware in Safe Mode. To get into Safe Mode repeatedly press the F8 key after the bios screen loads but before Windows loads. You'll know if you made it because the screen will be at 800 x 600 and your pc will be slow.
You need to install one firewall.
The Windows firewall doesn't stop malware on your pc from dialling out.
