Lack of water or food on the migration route.

I don't really understand the question.Animals migrate from one place to another as part of their inborn behaviour mainly because they need to travel to wherever food is available for them or they travel to an appropriate place to breed and raise their young.What limitations could be I can only guess at.Severe drought or forest fires with destruction of habitat possibly but I really don't know what is in the questioners mind when asking this question.

Not sure entirely what you mean. However, flightless animals would be limited by the land mass.
