Is the engine coolant level OK? If there isn't enough coolant (radiator fluit/antifreeze), the radiator coils won't get any and the heater will blow cold.

Based on everyone elses answers about a water pump (???) I'm not sure *I* understand the quesiton...

The van runs fine, you just have no heat as in air conditioning/heater...correct?

The likely cause is the blower motor for the heater has gone out. The vents right infront of the wildshield are used for the heater and aircon so even if the blower motor is dead air will be forced through the vents and into the cabin. That's why it heats up when you move.

Moving with it set on "vent". The fan motor isn't working therefore not forcing any hot air into the vehicle. Start by checking the fuse for the fan motor. If the fuse continues to blow then you have a short in your wiring, or, the fan motor is shot and needs replaced. IF it keeps blowing the fan motor fuse the simplest way to check the fan motor is to take a piece of wire and tie it onto the fan motor plug (under the hood) and touch it to the positive terminal on your battery. If the motor works without making a weird noise then it it faulty wiring between the switch and the fan motor. If that be the case, contact me by clicking my icon and I will tell you how to get your fan motor going rather inexpensively.

I would look for a kink in the heater hoses. Higher pressure at road speeds gets by and warms you. New hoses?
Could also be bum T-stat.
Look also at the vacuum lines going to heater control valve, shutting down with low vac.

You are about 3/4 galon low on coolant. Buy a galon of 50-50 and fill radiator. Very comon , nothing broken, just simple maintenance.

Check your fan belts, and coolant level. If belts are tight and coolant level is up then could be a vopour lock or worn waterpump.
