From what I hear no one is laughing at your jokes so if you don't who will. Only kidding.
It is not a faux pas. All it does is show that you have a sense of humor and can laugh at yourself. Keep it up

Laughing at your own jokes is like saying "I'm so funny, I even make myself laugh!" It's silly. It just looks silly. And people will think you're self-centred. If you tell a bad joke and no one but you laughs at it, they'll think you just have a really bad sense of humour. And when you're ready to tell a joke again, they just groan and say "not again." If you're really good at telling jokes, you can keep a straight face, in my opinion.

Some comedians can get away with it. If they are good at laughing and timeing. It is all about timeing.
