Sounds terrible, although i do feel sorry for the funeral directors, as it must have been an embarrasment nad awful for them too.
They may not have been able to help it...
You should ask your family members about it, you dont want to cause a scene, because that was not the important thing, you ahve more things on your mind, etc etc.
However, if it is going to bug you, then do something about it.
Did they treat this situation proffessionally???
Hope that helps a bit!

Somehow I find this story incredibly difficult to believe. There is no spring in the back, and there is no spring in the bedding of a casket, and if there was, and if it were to break, logically you would sink into the casket, not spring up out. Perhaps you are making this up for some attention?

I'm sorry to hear that happened... but how were they to know about a spring in her back ??? I don't see a case here, just some upset folks who now have a terrible memory of her passing and a terrible memory of her service... unless you can prove that the funeral director contributed to your Grandma's sudden resurrection, I doubt that you have anything that an attorney can work with other than emotional distress caused by your Grandma herself... save yourself any further emotional distress and just put this incident to rest with your Grandma !

If there is any case at all it sounds like it would be against the casket manufacturer. Find out who made it and investigate if this is a problem that is a result of poor design. You could help prevent this from happening again.

Gosh I am sorry that happened..Spring in her back??? When they embalm a body they of course take out all the internal organs and do a lot of sewing up things. If some of those stitches come lose that causes the body to come forward.I have seen them sit straight up before and it is scary.I am so sorry that must have been horrible. You could speak to a lawyer but you would have to bring up your grandmothers body and examine the embalming and stitching procedure.I would guess from that happening it was probably shoddy work. All those stitches should be double wrapped.Sounds like someone was lazy in there work.

How would they have prevented it? Seems like something that can't really be controlled by the funeral home.
That being said, the funeral industry is rife with scams. They overcharge for everything.
You seem angry about the expense of the funeral-- perhaps you are justified? Hunt around and see if you can find more info about the market value of the casket you purchased. If it was substantially less than you paid for it, file a complaint with BBB.

Sorry for your loss, btw. Losing your Grandma is tough.

they have a protection and additionally you gave it to them. once you asked from her and gained a signed fact that gave you accountability you known, despite in case you probably did no longer propose to, that she nevertheless had the authority. Had you in basic terms enforced your authority and that they refused they could have been in violation of the regulation. That mentioned, i'm sorry your father has handed, it is frustrating yet occurs to anybody. Do you extremely think of the he might choose the final ingredient achieved in his call to be a lawsuit? i comprehend mine might upward thrust from the grave and hang-out me if I did it.

Sometimes the body itself will rise to sit up because of muscle reactions in the body. Its not the Funneral homes fault, its just something the body (even in death) will do.

If this is a true story, you could probably sue them for emotional distress. If it is not a true story, I don't think you are very funny.
