Usually it ask you if you want to close the window when the download is finished, another way is to go to 'START' and then 'Settings' and then cotrol panel, there you adjust your settings to your liking, I hope this helps! -CIFI10-

Bullhockie. Bad programming shuts computer down? Never heard of it and I use BT for several years now.

You just need to look for an option in your BT client that shuts the computer down when a download finishes. It's a very common feature that can be found in many download oriented applications.

Just browse through the settings of your BT application and uncheck that option.

Do you have other people in your household? Chances are good that they are shutting it off, or you don't have all of the windows patches installed and someone is doing an RPC exploit from a third world country, hence it happens when you are asleep.

Also, some BT clients will make a computer randomly shut down I've heard, since there are errors with the programming. Let us know your findings please, and good luck!

It sounds like your power saving settings are set to switch it to hibernate. Go to power options in the control panel. You can change its settings from there.
