There are a lot of scam artists cutting and pasting the ebay info into their e-mails. The only way to be sure is not by going through a link in an e-mail but going directly to www.ebay.com. Never follow a link from an unsolicited e-mail sent to you. They say there is a problem with your account or someone is trying to use your Paypal account or something and click on this linkwhich has e-bay in the name and poof they have your info andyour identity. Beware of anyone asking for a credit card or ss number.

Double check the URL. Did you click on a hyperlink to get to "eBay?"

It's safest to enter www.ebay.com in your address bar. You are probably going to a spoof website run by phishers. DON'T give them your info and report it.

I signed in to eBay this morning just like usual. They never ask for that to sign in. You may have somehow hit upon a fake site.
