Which is a sarcastic question, I know, but I didn't
like it that much because of all the music. Much
rather see 48 hours again. Also, Shanghai Knights
struck me the same way. Music soundtrack over-
kill. Are you in my club?

I got/understood your sarcasm but one thing you have to understand (if you don't already) is the the late 70's through mid 80's were HUGE soundtrack years. At times it seemed like movie were actually built around the songs. Beverly Hills Cop was a product of this era so it has an overbearing soundtrack. You really have to look at movies in perspective as to when they were made. Big name bands would actually create songs spcifically for the soundtrack while today the songs put on the soundtracks are mostly rejects that never made it onto a regular CD. A majority of the top 20 soundtracks come from this era...just a few examples:

Saturday Night Fever
Purple Rain
Dirty Dancing
Footloose
Top Gun
Flashdance
Grease
The Breakfast Club
Say Anything
St. Elmos Fire
Lost Boys
Ghostbusters
Cocktail
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
16 candles

Oh, and by the way. Eddie Murphey has signed up for BHC IV....hopefully they won't make it a musical

Not a musical. And if they made it a musical that would give me another good reason not to see it.
