Umm....no.

St Patrick's Day has gone the same way as Easter & Christmas - a solemn religious occasion overtaken by commercialism. The only difference is that traditions observed at Easter and Christmas do actually have some basis in Christian belief. For most people, St Patrick's Day is merely an excuse to get drunk. Since when was an excuse necessary?

Thanks for the blessing, but no, no celebrating here. I'm not hebrew, I'm Welsh-Irish. It's fine for anyone who wants to celebrate the usurping of their own culture by those of a middle eastern desert religion, but I'm Irish of the Old Religion and me celebrating St. Patrick's day would be like a Cherokee celebrating Columbus day. But I hope everyone who does, has a splendid day.

Yes, being of Irish heritage, I maintain a warm spot year 'round for the coming of the Saint's holiday. I will also be celebrating the coming of the spring equinox as well. I'm not totally on time for the equinox but I have the weekend off and all..................
