I try to treat everyone with dignity and respect. I am probably a little nicer to people that I don't know very well because I'm not sure what kinds of things will bother them. Don't get me wrong though, my loved ones are extremely important to me. I try very hard to not hurt the feelings of my family or friends. As far as my children go, I would do anything that I could to prevent them from feeling an ounce of pain. I would live and die for my children. Never underestimate the love of a Father. By the way, nice question!

Generally, I think I might be less sensitive, not more as you suggest...with people I know.
A good friend, is one that can tell you exactly what they think, with genuine affection. Also, with someone you know, you have a better sense of where their boundaries and weaknesses are...and what's really likely to hurt them. With a stranger, you need to err on the side of caution, lest you accidentally cause far more harm than expected because you just happened to say the wrong thing or touch on the wrong issue.

We tend to give strangers the benefit of the doubt. But people we know intimately, we expect more of.
As you get to know a person you become cognizant of their strengths and weaknesses.
When you see a stranger being rude to someone, you have no historical basis on which to gauge their behavior. But if you know the person has a bad temper, you may be more disappointed that they haven't kept their inner beast under better control.
Likewise, a rude response form someone you know as easy going could cause you to want to look more into the provocation.
So the answer is No. We treat people we know differently from the way we treat strangers.

I am extremely careful unless I am scared, then I get mad. If its a stranger though, I would never (even if I didn't like them) purposely hurt their feelings. All people are different and you don't know what would hurt their feelings.

Not always as careful as I should be, but I try to be considerate!
And if I do hurt someone's feelings and they tell me, I try to make it up to them!

Im very tactful, and i give people respect from the start, but when they stab me in back, thats it. I am considerate though and will never be malicious to someone for no reason.

I try to be nice to people all the time (unless it's someone who pisses me off). Basically, I treat others the way I would like to be treated.
