Yes, they actually have a very good chance. Many people are underestimating them and I think this will be their year. With great name in the lineup such as, Derek Lee, Alfonso Soriano, Aramis Ramirez, Juan Pierre, Jacque Jones and Mark DeRosa how can this team go wrong? They probably will take the Wild Card. They also have a good pitching staff too. With Bob Howry, Carlos Zambrano, Ted Lilly and Mark Prior trying to make a comeback I can expect a very good season.

Thats not an easy division but I'll give them a 25% chance. The only team we know won't contend are the Pirates. The Brewers are improved the Reds surprised us all last year, the Astros are always good with Oswalt and the defending champion Cardinals are there.I do not doubt their hitting. The most important thing they need to make the playoffs is for Prior and Wood to stay healthy. The last time they made it they were both healthy. And they should have gone onto the WS but then that foul ball fan interference. When they were both healthy they combined for 32 wins.Last year they combined for 2 wins.So that is key.If they do both stay healthy(I don't think it will happen but it could)they will at the very least,be in contention to that last few weeks of the season.

The Cubs have a chance, but they're going to have to earn it. They play in a tough division with the defending World Series champions, the rising Milwaukee Brewers, and the tough Houston Astros. I expect them to win the NL Wild Card. Because of the big additions in the offseason (Alfonso Soriano, Ted Lilly, and many more), I think they will go deep into the playoffs.

Go Cubbies!!

I think the Cubs have a good chance of making the playoffs especially if they can maintain more balance in their pitching staff and can keep them healthy. they definitely have enough hitting and a good experienced manager to win.

They have a better chance this year of having a winning record. They still do not have good pitching, and their defense will be lacking . But they will score runs. It depends if they can outslug the opponent.

If hell freezes over and all other teams disband, they might have a small chance. They would still do something to screw it up.
