Tom Sawyer is a very readable book...you should read it.
but to get you started: Tom lead charactor, Huck Finn orphaned kid, Aunt Polly Toms aunt, Becky Thatcher Judge Thatchers daughter that likes Tom , injun' Joe Drunkin murderous half breed, some guy named Potter that injun Joe kills in a cemetary..Tom and Huck see Joe kill Potter one night when they go to a cemetary to bury a dead cat at midnight to get rid of warts
