Can anyone tell me which blower is better a 177 or a 471 super charger.As I want to put one on my new 350 chev crate motor i WON'T be using too much boost as the engine does not have too many goodies ( 8.5 comp , 4 bolt mains etc )
Any advise would be appreciated.

well you can actually get either one to produce the same amount of boost by adjusting the the drive ratio with different pulley sizes. Now having said that you will also want to look at cost differences, and most importantly application. If you are just racing you can get away with the smaller blower running higher drive ratios, however if you are mostly on the street i would go with a bigger blower with lower drive ratios. The reason being too much stress and heat due to the blower working too hard if it is too small. Although if it were me i would run a bigger blower and under drive it, then later if you want more boost a simple pulley change will be the only change needed.

im not sure but i think 471 would be better ithink but go to the website of who makes the blower like holley .com
