i check my volume and it not mute (nothing is mute)

This can sometimes be a hassle. All you need to do is check the properties for your volume settings. Go to advanced, and make sure that recording playback is selected, then make sure your mic isn't muted. You should be able to hear it after that.

You can't do that. The signal produced by a guitar is not great enough to be picked up by the computer input.

good question....I cant hear anything out of my speakers either on my cp. have checked all probable causes but none seem to be wrong.
