How old is "too old" Do we really want to still be alive at 85 or 90 years? When does life stop having purpose and meaning for us?

I am 67 years old....operate a small lawn service business in a active hands on manner, ride my motorcycle all over the country, just got married last October, and participate sports with my grandchildren (motocross-grandson; water ski & boating-granddaughter...etc.). " Too Old " in my perception is when I become unable to have " quality in life ", to be an observer and not a participant, thus if I am yet able at any physical number age then I am not " Too Old " whatever year.

"Too old" is when life stops having meaning and purpose. If your meaning and purpose depends on external and material conditions it can easily be damaged by bodily aging. If it is centred on love and/or God your meaningfulness can continue until your last breath whether you are 34, 65 or 108.

I've just come back from a retreat at a convent where 12 of the 19 Sisters who've died in the past decade lived to be 90+. The oldest passed over at 101. No doubt about Life's purpose for any one of them. For them it's loving and serving God. You might have an equally empowering humanistic purpose.

Remember to love moments, not just goals. Perhaps you know a child who when asked her or his age says "I'm gonna be thirteen". The child may be only 11 1/2 but thy are gonna be 13. There's excitement and positive energy. Live with enthusiasm and forward zeal and loving and giving and you give yourself scope to live truly well until you are 101 and a half.

1. Plenty of people live to that age. My grampa's over a hundred and he still doesn't want to die. 2. The purpose of life depends on what you believe in. For me, life will never stop having a purpose. For others, they may feel unproductive in their old age because they lose the ability to do certain things.

it stops having meaning when it is non-productive and that can be aged 20 , 50 or 80. depending on the health and state of mind.
no one can stipulate an age it would be so unfair and so generalised
