Consider yourself blessed! I have friends and relatives who did not live to see their 47th birthdays. Due to cancer, heart problems, and diabetes, some very good people are no longer around to enjoy their birthdays, their friends, or their loved ones. So when you get those feelings of depression, think about how fortunate you are to be able to celebrate another year of life! Do something nice for yourself, someone you love, or someone who is in physical or emotional pain. You'll be amazed at the power and joy that helping others brings. Don't worry about men finding you attractive. When you feel good about yourself and you're a good, kind person, all sorts of people will come into your life. Confidence and kindness are very sexy and attractive, especially to those who are mature enough to recognize such qualities. So, best wishes to you and I'd like to wish you an early "Happy Birthday"! And whether you realize it or not, you are truly blessed.
Peace and happiness to you always,
Journey

I understand where you're coming from. I'm 37 and feel older by the day. I recently had a 26 and 23 year old women tell me they think I'm sexy. Which made my day. Age is just a number. As long as you take care of yourself you'll be sexy to somebody. If you need a boost in self esteem, I suggest you get a webcam. Go into the yahoo chat rooms and let people view you. You don't have to do anything but smile and be yourself. You should see all the compliments the women get, just from sitting there talking and nothing else. And the women are all different ages, sizes and colors. Many around your age. I'm sure you are very sexy.

That's funny - I'm 31 and comforted myself at the 30 turning point because of all of the sexy 50 year old men and women out there today. At 47, absolutely, you can be sexy... No plastic surgery or botox needed. By the way, my grandmother, who has been and will always be single by choice, has had men trying to get her attention way up into her eighties - to the point it gets a little embarassing. She doesn't wear makeup or dress sexy or anything. She just is... sexy. It's so strange to say, but there's no denying it. And you have many decades to go before 80. Sexy really isn't about age.

As they say, it's only a number.I'm 55 and I'll admit that when I turned 50, I was feeling alittle blue. Just keep your mind active with interesting things that you like to do. Do the things that you always wanted to do but kept putting off. If you think you're getting "Old" then try a new look. Maybe something you saw on TV or in a magazine or somewhere that you liked but you were afraid to make a change. Don't sit around and feel sad or sorry for yourself Just keep yourself healthy mentally and physically. We'll never be 20 again and I wouldn't want to. I'm wiser and more secure with myself than back then. I like myself. On my 50th birthday I had a slumber party and invited all my friends.(women only of course).I'm married but my husband wasn't allowed either. He did something with his friends. It was my night. We celebrated another time. We had a blast. They brought their PJ's and we all did whatever we wanted to do. In one room people were playing games. In another Karaokeing.Another, listening to music and dancing. Eating and talking. Alot like when we were young except it was more fun this time. We didn't sneak out and roll someone's house or sneak in boys. I'll never forget that evening. Enjoy each day and don't lthink about how you wish you were still young and all the things you "use to " be able to do. By doing this, you miss out on the joys of today. Just step back and observe life. Your family, friends, God and the simple things in life or the things that really matter and will bring you happiness and and inner peace. Make new memories. Then you'll have something to think about when you're 80. Cheer up. You'll be OK. It hope this helps. Good luck.

I'll be 46 at the end of the year. So that makes you born in the year of the rat. we are meant to get on well (oxen and rats). I can still feel young -even though the years do sneak up fairly craftily. You can still be sexy, but with maturity you shouldn't have to try. You are certainly not ancient - but how could such a puppy like me claim you were? just look after yourself and enjoy the spring of your re-birth. Don't they say that life begins when you are forty?

Your just a child. I`m in my 70`s and still enjoying life to the full.
Don`t be depressed the best is yet to come, I promise. No kids to worry about ( all off hand ). If I was interested I could have several affairs....but I`m lucky to have a good husband.
You get more confident as the years go by and little things that you worry about when your young just don`t bother you any more. Please don`t have the blues because your going to be 47 it`s only a number. Enjoy life....Good Luck.

Look at the the ladies from Sex in the City....HOT!!!!!!!!! And they are all over 40. I think anyone who wants to be "sexy" can be. Age does not matter! Take anyway the lipo and plastic surgery and you still have some really HOT 50 year old and plus women running around EVERYWHERE.

I will be 50 years old in July, and I hear ya. I just know that age is what we make of it, and I refuse to sit back and let it bring me down. I consider myself a recycled teenager, and age is just a state of mind. Here is a quote from Abraham Lincoln:
"And in the end it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years."

I sure hope so! I am 42 and have just started healthy eating and an exercise plan. Please give me some hope here,it's not all bad is it? Also, bear in mind, old age is always about ten years older than you are, when you are 57 you will look at 40somethings with envy and consider them young.Try to adopt that mentality now. 47 is hot! Reel 'em in!
