Who has seen the movie? It is one of my all time favorites.All in the beautiful Italian language. What a lesson in the name of sacrifice?!

i have seen the movie several times,i think it is beautiful. It is one of those movies that stays in your mind for looong time,even if you want to forget it. i respect the message it sends. I have to say i disagree with the statement written above that the father should have not lied to his son,and the son could have known about the terrible state of living...I believe the beauty of the film is showing exactly how stable the connection between the father and his son is. No matter the surroundings they do not lose their connection with the sane world, the one in their minds. Even the title of the movie says it right . Life is beautiful...But not the one they live as victims of the war,but the one they share when they are together,even when they starve in the prison camp.they escape the harsh environment and start living a pretty life in their imagination.
The movie is moving...

I've seen this movie. Personally I don't like the fact the guy lied constantly to his son although his intention was good. The movie in my opinion was unrealistic and the son would have definitely been aware of the trouble going on and for the father to have lied to him would have just made him untrusting toward his father at a time when it would have been difficult to trust anyone.

Life is a journey; a journey of learning, searching and treasuring. I have seen the movie but I can hardly recall my mind. Sorry but I agreed with you, it's a good movie and must seen.
